In Islam, fasting is not merely understood as an act of abstaining from food and drink but also as a means of developing a disciplined and pious personality. This study aims to analyze the role of fasting in fostering discipline and enhancing individual piety. The research employed a library research approach by reviewing various scholarly sources, including journal articles, books, and other relevant literature. The findings indicate that fasting contributes significantly to the development of self control, time management discipline, and spiritual awareness. Furthermore, fasting embodies important educational values such as patience, honesty, responsibility, and social concern, all of which contribute to the formation of an Islamic personality. The discussion reveals that the effectiveness of fasting in shaping personality is strongly influenced by an individual’s understanding of its underlying values, the surrounding social environment, and consistency in practicing the lessons of fasting beyond the month of Ramadan. Therefore, fasting can serve as an effective means of cultivating a disciplined and pious personality when performed with sincerity, awareness, and deep spiritual reflection.
